Chicago – October 15, 2026 -- United Airlines travelers can now check whether their upcoming flight has Starlink Wi-Fi using a new online tracker, and the airline has extended its "Switch to Better Wi-Fi" status match offer to October 22.
The tracker shows Starlink status flight by flight
The tool, called StarlinkTracker.United.com, was built in response to customer demand. Travelers enter their travel dates and flight numbers within three days of departure, and the site updates in real time for last-minute aircraft changes. Aircraft assignments are typically confirmed within 24 hours of departure and remain subject to change.
The site also shows how many regional, narrowbody and widebody aircraft have Starlink. It lists the share of Starlink flights at seven hubs: Chicago, Newark, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston and Denver. The statistics refresh daily.
United also tells customers about Starlink through pre-flight emails, text notifications, the flight status page in its app, onboard announcements and signage on the plane.
Starlink is on more than 635 United aircraft
Starlink is active on more than 635 mainline and United Express aircraft and on nearly half of United's daily departures. More than 250,000 customers fly on a Starlink-equipped plane every day on average, across more than 2,500 flights.
United is installing the system on about 20 aircraft per week and plans to finish by the end of 2027. The airline has flown more than 37.7 million passengers on Starlink-powered aircraft across more than 538,000 flights, powering 14 million devices. United says it has more Starlink-equipped planes than any other airline.
Status match applications run 275% above pre-campaign levels
The status match campaign launched October 1 and runs one extra week because of strong demand. In under two weeks, thousands of customers have used it, and applications are 275% higher than before the campaign. New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco lead in participants, followed by Washington, D.C., Atlanta and Chicago.
Eligible Delta SkyMiles and American AAdvantage members can earn United Premier status through January 2028. They must meet a spending requirement and take a United or United Express flight within 90 days. The requirements by tier are:
- Premier Silver: $1,500
- Premier Gold: $3,000
- Premier Platinum: $4,500
- Premier 1K: $7,000
Andrew Nocella, United's Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, said the tracker makes it easier for customers to see which flights offer Starlink as the airline expands it across the fleet.
