Berlin – September 08, 2026 -- Ascentiz is showing off its H and K exoskeleton modules at IFA 2026, calling it the world's first modular exoskeleton platform for consumers.
A shared belt lets users swap hip and knee support modules in seconds
The system centers on a wearable Exo-Belt that houses the battery, controller and algorithms. Using a MOLLE quick-release structure, wearers can attach the H module, the K module, or both at once, and swap between them by hand within seconds. Ascentiz-H supports hip movement for walking, climbing, running and faster movements, while Ascentiz-K offers Adaptive Knee Augmentation, providing dynamic knee support, active stabilization and load management on flat ground, stairs, and during ascents and descents. Both modules use what Ascentiz calls Adaptive Motion Intelligence to detect changing movement conditions and adjust support in real time within a user-selected mode.
Ascentiz built modularity instead of a single fixed leg device
"We chose modularity because people don't always move the same way and don't always need the same support," said Cody Kou, Vice President at Ascentiz. He said different activities place different demands on hips and knees, and that the company wants a platform that can gain new capabilities over time rather than forcing users to start over with each new hardware generation.
BodyOS software runs beneath the hardware and went open-source in 2026
Underneath the hardware, Ascentiz runs BodyOS, its shared software and control foundation for modular wearable robotics. Combined with AZ-Lock at the mechanical level and CAN-FD for electrical and communication systems, BodyOS gives H, K and future modules a common framework to operate on the same platform. Ascentiz released BodyOS as an open-source project in 2026, intending for the system to evolve through software updates and hardware built by outside researchers and developers.
Pricing starts at 1,599 euros for the hip module alone
Ascentiz-H is available now through the Ascentiz shop, priced at 1,599 euros for the Pro version and 2,299 euros for Ultra. Ascentiz-K costs 2,399 euros for Pro and 2,999 euros for Ultra. Combined H+K configurations run 3,599 euros for Pro Combo and 3,999 euros for Ultra Combo. Availability dates for K and the H+K combo packages have not yet been announced.
