Berlin – September 08, 2026 -- Hypershell has launched Halo, a leg exoskeleton priced from 2,299 EUR, at IFA 2026, targeting hikers and outdoor users who need powered support across mixed terrain.
Four motors work as one coordinated system
Halo is built on what Hypershell calls its Unified Architecture, a continuous carbon-fiber frame running from hip to lower leg that links four motorized hip and knee joints into a single system. CEO Kelvin Sun said the company redesigned the entire lower-body power system rather than simply adding motorized knees to an existing hip exoskeleton.
The HyperDrive Pro motor system delivers up to 1,490W of peak power across the leg. Each knee power unit weighs only 170 grams, using a magnesium-alloy housing to keep total weight down.
AI predicts movement 200 milliseconds ahead
The HyperIntuition 2.0 control algorithm uses a Mixture-of-Experts architecture, described as an industry first for exoskeletons. More than 30 HyperSense Pro sensors feed data to the HyperCore Pro chip, which was trained on over 10,000 hours of movement data. The system can anticipate a user's movement roughly 200 milliseconds in advance and adjust assistance up to 2,500 times per second.
Hypershell also built in human-in-the-loop reinforcement learning, so the device adapts to a wearer's gait, strength and preferences over time rather than requiring the user to adjust to it.
Knee protection cuts squat fatigue by up to 40%
Coordinated hip and knee joints share load and braking torque during demanding movements, which Hypershell says reduces knee muscle fatigue by up to 40% during squats while also assisting on climbs and cushioning impacts on uneven ground.
The removable PocketVolt battery weighs 370 grams and provides up to 20 kilometers of range, and can be carried at the waist or in a backpack.
Halo folds to under 8 liters for travel
At 2.6 kilograms, Halo uses a carbon-fiber and titanium frame and is rated IP54 for dust and splash resistance. It folds down to under 8 liters and fits into backpacks up to 85 liters, including mountaineering packs. A five-buckle fastening system lets users put it on in about 20 seconds and remove it in 5 seconds after initial fitting. The device also includes Shelly, a voice- and text-based AI assistant for configuring settings and planning routes.
First 200 units ship as a limited Origin Edition
The initial 200 units are being sold as the Halo Origin Edition, each with a unique production number and exclusive logo, available now for preorder at 2,299 EUR. Initial availability covers the United States, Canada, Europe and the United Kingdom, with official sales and phased deliveries starting in November.
