Boston – October 16, 2026 -- The Withings BodyScan 2, a $599.95 at-home scale that tracks more than 60 biomarkers, has been named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2026.
Withings calls it the world's first at-home longevity station. It turns the daily weigh-in into a cardiometabolic check, meant to show whether everyday habits are adding years to a person's healthy life or taking them away.
The Daily Scan takes seconds each morning
Every morning, the Daily Scan captures weight, body composition, visceral fat, heart rate and vascular age in seconds.
The Longevity Scan adds ECG, SpO2 and segmental readings
For the Longevity Scan, users raise both arms on the retractable handle. The scale then measures segmental body composition across six body zones using 13 frequency bioimpedance spectroscopy. It also runs a six lead ECG with AFib detection and records blood oxygen (SpO2). Blood Pressure Insight Notifications are part of the scan as well.
Results appear on the color display built into the handle. They sync to the Withings App, which builds a continuous picture of how the body changes over time.
A third TIME honor for Withings
This is the third time a Withings product has made TIME's Best Inventions list. Body Scan was named in 2022 and BeamO in 2024. BodyScan 2 was also a CES 2026 Innovation Award Honoree.
Withings says BodyScan 2 draws on more than 50 patents and fifteen years of medical engineering. The company invented the first smart scale in 2009. Chairman and Co-founder Eric Carreel said the future of health starts at home, long before the doctor's office.
Pricing and availability in the US
