Indianapolis Home Show Swaps New Build for a Remodeled 1960s Ranch
INDIANAPOLIS – October 29, 2026 -- Visitors to the 2027 Indianapolis Home Show, running January 15–24 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, can walk through a remodeled 1960s-style ranch house instead of a new build. It is the first time in more than 100 years that the show's signature Centerpiece Home puts renovation front and center.
A 1,900-square-foot ranch grows to roughly 2,600
NARI Central Indiana, the local chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, is presenting the project. The group will recreate a 1960s-era ranch inside Exposition Hall, then reimagine and expand it from 1,900 square feet into approximately 2,600 square feet of modern, fully furnished living space.
The one-story layout is deliberate. Organizers point to growing interest in single-level living for its convenience, accessibility and flexibility for homeowners of all ages.
