Survey: 1 in 3 Young Germans Fail Basic Financial Literacy Test
Laichingen – September 09, 2026 -- A new survey of 1,000 people aged 16 to 35 in Germany finds that nearly a third of respondents can answer no more than one of three basic financial questions correctly, while only 33.5 percent pass the full basic test. The poll, commissioned by precious metals comparison platform GOLD.DE ahead of the national "Day of Gold" on September 7, was conducted in August 2026 and is weighted to be representative by age, gender, and federal state.
