Irvine – October 19, 2026 -- OluKai's new Pāhi boot costs $300, gets early access on October 20 and goes on sale sitewide on October 22, with a sole designed to be resoled so the boots last for years.
The limited-edition boot is a collaboration with Neil Kamimura, a Big Island Hawai'i native and master bladesmith. Self-taught, Kamimura gained international recognition by winning the History Channel competition show Forged in Fire. When he is not restoring vintage motorcycles, he makes knives and swords sought after by celebrities and collectors.
Pull-up leather is built to develop a patina
The Pāhi uses premium pull-up leather saturated with dense waxes and oils. With wear, the leather develops a distinctive, multi-tonal patina. It also naturally resists water, drying, cracking and hardening over time.
The outsole adds grip, cushioning and a second life
The traction-focused outsole is meant to grip from workshop floors to open roads. It also offers enhanced cushioning and rebound for long days on your feet. Because the outsole can be resoled, the boot can be rebuilt rather than replaced.
Kamimura says he is on his feet for long stretches in his workshop and needs boots that support him all day and withstand the elements. In his words, the Pāhi is an extension of his craft, combining those needs into one boot.
Kerry Kondrady, OluKai's Chief Marketing Officer, said the company has worked with Kamimura for many years. He described the Pāhi as timeless, built for hard work and still clean and stylish.
Where and when to buy
Early access starts October 20. On October 22, the boot becomes available sitewide at OluKai.com and in select Boot Barn and OluKai retail stores, while supplies last.
