Johor – October 12, 2026 -- Malaysian eyewear chain Season Optical sold 1,111 frames and sunglasses in 36 operating hours at a three-day warehouse sale, earning an ASEAN Records title. Its affordable packages start from RM28.
The sale ran with a live public tally
The sale took place from 25 to 27 September 2026 at a single venue. A live public sales tally let shoppers follow the count as it climbed, and the final figure was announced when the event closed. ASEAN Records recognised Season Optical as the first mart-based eyewear chain to pass 1,000 pairs sold in a three-day warehouse sale with such a tally.
Season Optical has grown to 26 outlets since 2015
The Johor-founded chain opened its first outlet in 2015 and now runs 26 outlets across Malaysia. It sells eyewear at several price points, from the RM28 packages to established brands and higher-end products.
Community vision-care work runs alongside retail
Season Optical has focused on children and on communities that struggle to access quality eyewear. It has worked with the Johor Sultan Ibrahim Foundation on vision-care initiatives for students and communities in Johor, including providing eyewear to people in need.
Founders and the general manager accepted the award on stage
The recognition was presented on 27 September 2026 at Season Optical U Sentral Masai. General Manager Anderson Hong and founders Calvin Chung and Sally Loh received it on stage. Dato Fazley Yaakob and Gan Cheng Swee, Director of Marsai Jaya Elektrik Sdn Bhd, witnessed the presentation.
Loh said the record belongs to the company's customers, community and the people of Johor, and that "good vision should not be a privilege" tied to price.
