Sacramento – October 06, 2026 -- Marianne's Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC®) Avocado Oil and Organic Avocado Oil are rolling into more than 800 Target stores nationwide this fall, giving shoppers access to what the brand says is the only Seed Oil Free Certified® avocado oil currently on shelves.
The launch comes less than a year after Marianne's entered broader retail and follows a 2026 UC Davis research study that found the majority of products labeled "made with 100% pure avocado oil" were actually adulterated with cheaper oils. Marianne's was named the benchmark for purity in that study, the standard every other brand was measured against.
Every batch is tested against international purity markers
Each load of oil sourced from partner farmers is third-party tested for purity against all three CODEX markers: fatty acid profile, sterols, and tocopherols. The oils carry a neutral flavor and a smoke point up to 500°F, suited for high-heat searing, roasting, baking, and everyday cooking.
Certification standards go beyond pesticide-free farming
Organic certification requires avocados grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Regenerative Organic Certified® builds on that foundation, adding requirements for rebuilding soil health, protecting biodiversity, and ensuring fair treatment and livelihoods for growers. Marianne's follows the avocado harvest globally throughout the year to source the freshest oil, and its ROC® avocados are processed at a women-led facility in East Africa.
Target selected the brand for its emerging-brand growth program
Marianne's was chosen for Target's Takeoff program, which highlights high-growth emerging food brands. The retail expansion builds on an existing footprint that includes Amazon, Sprouts, H-E-B, Fresh Thyme, Hy-Vee, Erewhon, Costco, and regional grocers nationwide.
"What's in the bottle should be exactly what's on the label," said Marianne Adams, namesake of Marianne's. "When independent scientists use your oil as the definition of pure, it proves we mean it."
