Grand Rapids – September 13, 2026 -- Protein Pints is expanding its Protein Pops ice cream bars into Target this week and into all of Kroger's Family of Stores starting September 13, following a summer debut that sold through its initial online inventory in under eight hours.
The bars sold more than 10 times over online projections at launch
Protein Pops launched in June as the brand's first major product beyond its original pints, offering 10 grams of protein per bar in an individually portioned format. Demand exceeded online sales projections by more than 10X within hours of release, and the bars have continued building momentum at Sprouts Farmers Market throughout the summer.
Each bar packs 10 grams of protein and at least 75% less sugar than typical ice cream
Protein Pops come in four flavors: Caramel Crunch, Vanilla Crunch, Peanut Butter Crunch and Mint Crunch. Each bar contains creamy high-protein ice cream dipped in a quinoa-studded milk chocolate coating, with 180-190 calories, no artificial sweeteners, gluten-free ingredients and all nine essential amino acids.
The retail footprint will top 4,000 locations nationwide by mid-September
With the addition of Target and Kroger's Family of Stores, Protein Pops will be available at more than 4,000 retail locations across the country. Paul Reiss, co-founder and CEO of Protein Pints, said the early response made clear that consumers wanted the brand's protein-forward approach in a more convenient format, and that the expanded retail presence lets more people find the bars during a regular grocery run.
Protein Pops are now available nationwide at Target and Sprouts Farmers Market, with Kroger's Family of Stores locations carrying the bars beginning September 13.
