Drug-Free Light Therapy for Psoriasis Arrives in Katy

Houston – October 28, 2026 -- Houston-area patients with psoriasis, vitiligo or eczema can now get medically supervised, drug-free Narrowband UVB light therapy at Array Skin Therapy's new clinic at 11211 Katy Freeway, Suite 450, Houston, TX 77079.

The clinic treats three chronic skin conditions with targeted UV light

Narrowband UVB (NB-UVB) phototherapy uses carefully controlled wavelengths of ultraviolet light to target inflammatory processes in the skin. Unlike systemic medications, which can affect multiple systems in the body, it delivers treatment directly to affected skin. Array describes it as a non-invasive alternative or complement to traditional medical therapies.

  • Psoriasis: The light helps slow excessive skin cell production and reduce inflammation, easing redness, itching, scaling and thickened plaques.
  • Vitiligo: Therapeutic UVB can stimulate melanocyte activity, encouraging a gradual return of natural pigmentation.
  • Eczema: Phototherapy helps regulate inflammatory responses tied to eczema and atopic dermatitis, potentially reducing persistent itching, redness and recurring flare-ups.
Two nurse practitioners supervise individualized treatment plans

Each plan is built around the patient's diagnosis, skin type, medical history and response to phototherapy. Clinical Director Shir'mel McCullough, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, and Nurse Practitioner Susan Nguy, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, lead the clinical team.

The clinic uses full-body treatment booths, hand and foot units, and targeted phototherapy technology for both widespread and localized skin concerns. Sessions are generally brief, which suits patients who need multiple appointments each week. Staff monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.

Patients can come by dermatologist referral or book directly

The clinic accepts patients referred by their dermatologists, as well as people who schedule a consultation themselves to find out whether phototherapy fits their condition. Although NB-UVB has been used in dermatology for decades, Array says many people are unfamiliar with it or do not know that specialized light therapy clinics exist outside traditional dermatology offices. The company plans to build relationships with local dermatologists and other healthcare providers.

Houston joins Array's clinics in Southern California, Utah and Arizona
