Free Arthritis Webinar Covers Sleep, Stress, Diet and Therapies

Irvine, Calif. – October 15, 2026 -- People living with arthritis can join the free "Whole Body Healing for Arthritis" webinar today at 7 p.m. ET, hosted by the Arthritis Foundation and sponsored by 1MD Nutrition.

Board-certified rheumatologist Adam Kreitenberg, MD, who is also a physician formulator at 1MD Nutrition, leads the session. It covers how to pair medical care with healthy lifestyle habits, emotional wellness strategies and appropriate complementary therapies.

Nearly 60 million people in the U.S. have an arthritis diagnosis

That figure includes adults and children, and the effects go beyond joint pain. Fatigue, disrupted sleep and emotional strain can make everyday activities harder, so care needs to address overall well-being. Kreitenberg says "managing arthritis is a long game," and he points to everyday factors people can influence: how they move, eat, sleep and manage stress.

The webinar walks through three areas of arthritis care
  • Mental and emotional wellness: how the brain and stress influence the experience of pain, and how cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness can help with coping.
  • Self-management: Mediterranean-style nutrition, gut health, regular movement, restorative sleep and pacing daily activities.
  • Complementary care: how heat and cold therapy, acupuncture and massage may work alongside medical treatment, and how to evaluate supplements with a healthcare provider.
Kreitenberg's mother's experience led him to rheumatology

He completed internal medicine and rheumatology training at the University of Southern California and Los Angeles County Medical Center. He later partnered with 1MD Nutrition to help develop its joint and bone health supplements.

The session encourages sustainable changes made in close consultation with a healthcare team. Participants will also hear about the Foundation's webinars, Connect Groups and Helpline.
