New St. Petersburg Clinic Brings Vein Screenings to Pinellas County

St. Petersburg – November 06, 2026 -- United Vein & Vascular Centers (UVVC) will open a clinic at 5858 Central Ave., Suite 1010, St. Petersburg, FL 33710, on August 24, 2026, offering vein screenings and minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins and related symptoms.

The clinic covers western Pinellas County

The Central Avenue location is meant to serve residents of St. Petersburg, Treasure Island, Gulfport, Kenneth City, Seminole, and nearby communities. Dr. Romina Deldar, a board-certified surgeon and vein specialist, will see patients. She has advanced training in general surgery and in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Everyday leg discomfort can be a reason to get screened

UVVC says residents may consider a screening when varicose veins, discoloration, swelling, leg pain, heaviness, or cramps start affecting comfort or daily activities. Examples include swelling after a full day on your feet, cramps that interrupt sleep, or tired legs on a walk along the waterfront or Pinellas Trail.

These symptoms do not confirm vein disease. Compression stockings, leg elevation, and shorter walks may ease discomfort for some people, but they do not explain the cause. Patients whose symptoms continue despite compression stockings can also book a screening.

Dr. Deldar weighs symptoms, history, and ultrasound results

Dr. Deldar looks at visible changes and physical discomfort together with a patient's medical history and vascular health. When further testing is appropriate, ultrasound findings add detail about the veins involved. She then uses the full evaluation to decide whether treatment is warranted and which approach fits.

Five minimally invasive procedures will be available
  • Radiofrequency ablation (RFA): controlled heat closes veins that are not circulating blood properly, so blood reroutes through healthier nearby veins.
  • VenaSealTM: a medical adhesive closes affected veins without heat, giving qualifying patients a non-thermal option.
  • Varithena®: an injectable microfoam for certain varicose veins, including some that may be difficult to treat with other minimally invasive procedures.
  • Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy: ultrasound guides an injectable solution into affected veins, causing them to close.
  • Microphlebectomy: larger surface varicose veins are removed through tiny incisions to relieve symptoms and improve the look of bulging veins.

Recommendations depend on the veins involved, the patient's symptoms, ultrasound findings, and the physician's evaluation.

The opening brings UVVC to 15 Florida locations

With St. Petersburg, UVVC now operates eight clinics in the Tampa Bay region and 15 locations across Florida. Patients at the new clinic will also be connected to UVVC's wider network of physicians and vein care teams across Tampa Bay.
