New York – September 29, 2026 -- Ernesta, a custom rug retailer, has introduced nine new rug styles, including a seven-piece Modern Geometry collection and two additions to its Earth Tones line, all available now at ernesta.com.
Texture, not color, forms the pattern in Modern Geometry
The seven Modern Geometry styles -- Alya, Amos, Claudia, Dawson, Essie, Gemma and Isla -- use high-low pile, weave and construction to build pattern instead of relying on dyed color. Constructions include hand-knotted, hand-tufted and handwoven techniques in wool, jute and cotton, with pile height and pattern scale varying by design.
Alya is a hand-knotted wool shag finished with washes to reduce shedding. Amos alternates thick pile with flatwoven sections in undyed wool for a patchwork effect. Claudia is a wool flatweave with a widened chevron zigzag, while Dawson blends wool and cotton for a marled, tonal surface. Essie uses raised wool bars over a recessed base, Gemma pairs flatweave against plush pile in blocks, and Isla combines wool, jute and cotton in a shifting high-low stripe.
Earth Tones expands with two low-profile additions
Ernesta's recently launched Earth Tones collection now includes Amber, a hand-loomed wool-jute blend with a tonal, hardwearing weave suited to high-traffic areas, and Nadia, a handwoven wool-cotton rug whose striped pattern comes from mixed yarn tones rather than dye.
"With Modern Geometry, we're answering something designers have been asking us for: rugs with the depth and durability to anchor a room, not just decorate it," said Rosa Glenn, Chief Merchandising Officer at Ernesta.
Every rug is custom-sized to the inch
As with all Ernesta products, each design can be custom-sized to fit any room and is typically delivered within two to four weeks. Customers can add an optional Protective Treatment for spill resistance, and Ernesta's showroom network offers white glove delivery, installation, stair runners and custom cutouts.
