2027 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Starts at $44,625 With Hybrid Off-Road Power

Auburn Hills – September 30, 2026 -- Jeep has opened orders for the 2027 Cherokee Trailhawk, a hybrid SUV starting at $44,625 including a $1,995 destination charge, pairing an estimated 31 MPG combined with Trail Rated off-road specs.

The Trailhawk runs a 1.6L Turbo Hybrid engine producing 210 horsepower. It uses Jeep's Active Drive II 4x4 system with Lock Mode and a class-exclusive two-speed power transfer unit featuring a 2.92 low range ratio and a 37.5:1 crawl ratio.

Off-road specs beat rivals in its class

Jeep lists a 28.8-degree approach angle, 31.8-degree departure angle, and 21.9-degree ramp breakover angle for the Trailhawk. It offers 9 inches of ground clearance with a 1-inch suspension lift, plus a 24-inch water fording rating -- the only SUV in its class with that depth rating, according to Jeep. The suspension delivers a 45-point Ramp Travel Index improvement over other Cherokee models.

Standard steel skid plates shield the front axle, wiring, fuel tank, and hybrid battery. Five Selec-Terrain modes -- Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud, and Rock -- come standard, alongside 17-inch wheels wrapped in Nexen Rodian ATX all-terrain tires sized 245/65R17.

Jeep tested the Trailhawk at Sand Hollow for sand and slickrock performance and in Moab to dial in articulation and ground clearance, according to the company.

Design changes bring red tow hooks and a new interior color

The Trailhawk gets a unique gloss black front fascia to improve approach and departure angles, class-exclusive red tow hooks front and rear, and a hood graphic. Inside, it introduces Mantis Green upholstery with red accent stitching, a Black Spun Aluminum shift-dial finish, and a Radical Red bezel around the transmission dial -- a design element also found on the Wrangler Rubicon.

Standard features include heated seats and a foot-activated liftgate

Every Cherokee comes with a 10.25-inch digital driver cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The Trailhawk adds LED headlamps and taillamps, fog lamps, heated front seats and steering wheel, memory seating and mirrors, and a foot-activated power liftgate.

Buyers can add a Sun and Sound package with a dual-pane sunroof and Alpine audio system, a trailering package supporting the Cherokee's 3,500-pound towing capacity, or an Advanced Pro Tech Group with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, camera washers, and a 360-degree camera.

Jeep brand CEO Branden Coté said the Trailhawk earned its Trail Rated badge through a gauntlet of testing scenarios, combining 4x4 off-road capability with hybrid efficiency.

Production begins later this year at Stellantis' Toluca Assembly Complex.
