Irvine, Calif. – September 13, 2026 -- The 2027 Karma Gyesera Grand Coupe has been named 2027 Luxury Green Car of the Year by the Green Car Awards, months ahead of its December dealership debut.
The Gyesera carries a base price of $139,995 and arrives at Karma dealerships in December
Built on a high-strength aluminum space frame with extensive carbon fiber reinforced composites, the four-passenger Grand Coupe is powered by Karma's latest Hybrid EREV powertrain, designated HRL15665. The system produces 566 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque, pushing the car from 0-60 mph in just under 3.7 seconds.
Green Car Journal has issued the awards annually since 2005
Ron Cogan, Editor and Publisher of Green Car Journal, said the Gyesera's design, extended-range capability, craftsmanship and exclusivity set it apart in a crowded electrified vehicle market. Green Car Journal has covered the intersection of automobiles, energy and the environment since 1992.
Karma calls the Gyesera the only true luxury Hybrid EREV on the market
Marques McCammon, President and CEO of Karma Automotive, said the vehicle combines handcrafted luxury, low-volume exclusivity and efficiency. Karma manufactures the car at its Karma Innovation and Customization Center in Moreno Valley, California, with executive and design operations based in Irvine.
