Graz – October 07, 2026 -- XPENG's Next-Gen AI Flagship SUV G9L has completed its first production trial at Magna's vehicle facility in Graz, Austria, becoming the fourth XPENG model built in Europe alongside the G6, G9 and P7+.
The pre-production G9L will drive 1,324 kilometers from Graz to Paris before its global launch
The journey, undertaken ahead of the vehicle's global premiere at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, is designed to test the SUV's charging capability, safety systems and driving performance under real-world conditions.
XPENG has delivered more than 100,000 vehicles overseas, including over 60,000 in Europe
More than 6,000 units have gone to customers in France since the brand entered the market two years ago. In the second quarter of 2026, overseas deliveries topped 20,000 units for the first time, up 81% year-on-year, with international markets accounting for 25% of first-half revenue at an average selling price above €40,000.
The G9L is engineered for launch across 64 countries with a three-year global testing program
Validation covered 26 countries and regions and roughly 6.74 million kilometers of road testing. The SUV has undergone 192 crash tests and more than 110 testing protocols, including configurations for both left- and right-hand-drive markets, and meets four major five-star safety standards: E-NCAP, A-NCAP, C-NCAP and C-IASI. Testing also included a seven-stage "720-degree" challenge across land, water and air conditions.
The SUV's standard chassis includes dual-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering up to 15 degrees
The system is built to improve low-speed maneuverability while maintaining stability at higher speeds, paired with intelligent variable damping.
Magna's Graz plant began producing XPENG vehicles in the third quarter of 2025
