BBB National Programs Launches Creator Certification, AI Risk Tools, and Stronger Kids' Privacy Push in 2026

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – April 14, 2026 – BBB National Programs, the U.S. nonprofit that governs advertising self-regulation, data privacy accountability, and consumer dispute resolution, is advancing on multiple fronts in 2026 with new programs targeting influencer transparency, AI risks for children, and evolving privacy rules. The organization — which has operated for more than 50 years and now runs over 20 programs — recently launched the Institute for Responsible Influence, published a Generative AI & Kids Risk Matrix, and is helping businesses navigate the FTC's revised Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) Rule, which is now in effect. For consumers, especially parents, these developments represent a structural push toward greater accountability in the digital spaces people and their families use every day.
