Jena – October 28, 2026 -- ESET has updated its ESET HOME Security and ESET Small Business Security packages to protect users against AI-driven scams, and the new features are available now. The update also brings ESET Mobile Security to iOS devices for the first time.
The security vendor cites a concrete threat: since March 2026, its researchers have found 3,000 malicious AI skills, the add-ons that extend what AI tools can do. Stefan Heitkamp, Director of Retail, Etail and OEM Partnerships at ESET, says many users now trust AI answers about as much as search results, and attackers are trying to exploit that trust.
Four new features target AI tools directly
AI agent protection, available in all product tiers, checks what content AI agents access and what they download before anything runs. It guards against unsafe files, scripts downloaded by AI tools and suspicious external URLs. A companion feature, AI behavior monitoring, watches agents continuously for unusual actions, suspicious access attempts, unexpected behavior patterns and questionable download sources.
Protected AI communication covers ESET HOME Security Premium and Ultimate as well as Small Business Security. It secures interactions with ChatGPT, with Gemini and Copilot to follow. It checks URLs in chatbot replies and flags content from phishing, malicious or potentially unwanted sources, warning users before they click. It also checks scripts generated by LLMs to stop malicious code from running.
The fourth addition is the ESET AI Skills Checker, a free online tool. It scans AI skills for signs of malicious activity and risky behavior before users install them.
iPhone users get ESET Mobile Security
The premium iOS version includes anti-phishing for Safari, which blocks malicious websites before they load. It also includes connection protection, which flags risky or unsecured wireless networks. Free features include a link checker that tests URLs for malicious redirects against ESET's database. A device scan reviews security status and configuration for weaknesses such as faulty settings or missing permissions. A security settings check flags unsecured networks and lets users build a list of trusted ones.
The app will go live after Apple App Store approval, and availability may vary by region.
Windows screens and small-business web access get new controls
Browser screen protection for Windows blocks unauthorized screenshots, screen recordings and screen sharing while users write emails or browse social media. It also shields against infostealers and malware that capture screenshots, and covers online banking, shopping and private browsing sessions.
ESET Small Business Security adds web control. Small companies can restrict employees' access to potentially dangerous or inappropriate websites, offensive material and other disruptive content.
ESET is also investing 40 million euros over the next three years to expand its AI capabilities.
