Anaheim – October 21, 2026 -- Two new Avengers attractions at Disney California Adventure will open in 2028, and Disney has now revealed the cast, storyline and ride mechanics behind them. The news came at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, where John Stamos briefly took over hosting duties from Neil Patrick Harris. He joined Imagineer Brent Strong and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige on the Horizons stage.
Avengers Campus is doubling in size and reconnecting with Cars Land
Construction is underway on the expansion, which will double the size of the land. Disney also said the land will soon reconnect with Cars Land. The two attractions, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, were first announced at D23 2024.
Avengers Infinity Defense starts with a briefing from Ms. Marvel
Guests arrive as new recruits, and Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel gives the pre-mission briefing. The goal is to reassemble the Avengers and stop King Thanos. Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) are reprising their roles.
Massive physical sets blend with large media scenes as riders travel through Asgard, Wakanda and New York City, ending face to face with Thanos.
Stark Flight Lab seats two riders in gyro-kinetic pods
Riders roll along a track in two-person pods and stop in front of a giant robot arm. They are then deployed to a test station for a simulated flight with high-speed maneuvers inspired by Iron Man. Downey, Mackie and Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) are the announced on-screen talent. Disney had previously shared details of the ride at SXSW 2025.
Hong Kong Disneyland is building an Avengers Tower
The new pavilion will house Avengers Research Testing Labs, where Stark Industries and Peter Parker (Spider-Man) work. Evil forces are drawn to the lab's tech, and the ride uses more than 120 feet of storytelling tech to carry guests across realms including Wakanda and Asgard. A new Quinjet landing platform nearby will offer hero encounters. Construction is well underway.
Shanghai Disney Resort gets the first land devoted solely to Spider-Man
The land will be home to the Shanghai division of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.), the organization Tony Stark set up to encourage young people to experiment with technology. Peter Parker and friends have built Spider-Bots to help assemble their experiments and their new coaster. The final piece of coaster track has now been installed.
Imagineers are working with local artists on more than 20 murals across the land. A sneak preview is on display at the Imagineering Pavilion at the Anaheim Convention Center for D23 attendees.
