Honda Center – October 24, 2026 -- Disney used its Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23 2024 to unveil nearly 50 announcements, including four new cruise ships, a Tiana's Bayou Adventure opening date of November 15, 2024, and new lands and rides across its parks. Many of the projects will start appearing over the next five years.
Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D'Amaro said all of it is in active development: "Plans are drawn. Dirt is moving."
Four new ships will bring Disney Cruise Line to 13 vessels
The fleet expansion runs from 2027 to 2031. Disney also shared new details about the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.
Disney's Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom get Pixar and villain makeovers
Sulley, Mike and the rest of the "Monsters, Inc." crew will move into Disney's Hollywood Studios, with a land that lets guests inside the factory for the first time. Magic Kingdom will add two new "Cars" attractions and a Villains land. Construction on the "Cars" project starts in 2025. A new nighttime parade, "Disney Starlight," arrives on Main Street, U.S.A. in 2025.
Animal Kingdom's Tropical Americas opens in 2027
The new area features Indiana Jones and the magical casita from "Encanto."
California gets Pandora, "Coco" and a bigger Avengers Campus
Disney California Adventure will add a new Pandora area inspired by "Avatar: The Way of Water" and future Avatar films. A "Coco" attraction begins construction in 2026. Avengers Campus will double in size with Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. Avengers experiences are also headed to Shanghai Disneyland Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland.
Disneyland debuts its first Walt Disney audio-animatronics figure in 2025
"Walt Disney: A Magical Life" will play at the Main Street Opera House. After its debut, it will rotate with "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln."
Disneyland Paris builds a "Lion King" ride-through attraction
Guests will follow Simba from cub to King in the first-ever ride-through attraction themed to the film.
Epcot, Galaxy's Edge and Disney Adventure World all get updates
A rethemed Test Track presented by Chevrolet arrives at Epcot in 2025, exploring the past, present and future of automation. Two new themed lounges, inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean and Spaceship Earth, also open at Disney World in 2025. In 2026, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge adds new Mando and Grogu adventures tied to the film "The Mandalorian and Grogu." Disney Adventure World gets a World of Frozen land that same year.
Fortnite adds a Doctor Doom Marvel season
Disney and Epic Games are bringing Disney Animation, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel content to Fortnite. A new Marvel season featuring Doctor Doom starts the week after the showcase.
