Madrid – October 27, 2026 -- Casa Verbena Madrid, a 45-room hotel on Calle de Preciados in the centre of the Spanish capital, has opened as the first European property in Hilton's Outset Collection. Interiors come from Madrid-born designer Lorenzo Castillo, and every morning starts with a traditional Madrileño breakfast.
The name comes from a Madrid street party
Casa Verbena is named after the verbena, a lively Spanish neighbourhood celebration built around food, music and shared traditions. The hotel also draws on costumbrismo, the Spanish artistic tradition of depicting local customs, characters and daily rituals. The aim is to show guests the cafés, streets and squares that shape life for Madrileños, beyond the landmarks.
Preciados Rooms open onto terraces facing the Royal Palace
Costumbrismo-inspired artwork, warm materials, fluted glass, brass finishes and layered textures run through the interiors. Many rooms look onto Preciados street and its typical Madrid façades. Preciados Rooms have terraces with views across the city's rooftops and towards the Royal Palace.
Breakfast brings churros, Iberian ham and local coffee
Guests eat in an emerald-toned dining room. The menu includes churros inspired by the capital's churrería culture, pan con tomate with Iberian ham, Spanish tortilla, locally roasted coffee and freshly squeezed juice.
A seasonal illustrated guide points guests to local addresses
The hotel worked with a local artist to produce "Our Madrid," a seasonal illustrated insider's guide available to guests. It recommends cafés, shops, bars and neighbourhood addresses that locals favour.
Álvaro Mazaheri, managing director of Arte Hoteles, said the goal is for each stay to reveal more of the Madrid beyond its best-known sights, whether guests are visiting for the first time or returning.
Hilton Honors members can earn and redeem points
Guests can book through Hilton's direct channels, earn and redeem Hilton Honors Points, and use member benefits. Elizabeth Scruggs, brand leader for Outset Collection by Hilton, said the brand is building independent hotels with strong local identities. She said more than 100 hotels are under development globally, offering travellers "a more personal lens" on a destination.
David Kelly, Hilton's senior vice president for Continental Europe, said the opening builds on Hilton's growing presence in Madrid and its portfolio of collection properties across Europe.
