Seattle – September 15, 2026 -- Holland America Line is moving up the renovation of its Oosterdam ship by five weeks, adding five new voyages after strong demand for cruises aboard the newly reimagined vessel.
Oosterdam's first post-renovation cruise now departs October 31, 2027
The ship will undergo its Holland America Evolution transformation in Marseille, France, returning to service with a 10-day voyage from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Trieste, Italy. Guests on that sailing will visit Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia.
Because the dry dock start date moved earlier, several previously scheduled voyages between September 11, 2027, and December 9, 2027, have been canceled. Affected guests and travel advisors are being contacted directly about rebooking options.
Five new voyages span the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Caribbean
Following the Rome-to-Trieste inaugural sailing, Oosterdam will offer an 11-day Mediterranean cruise from Trieste to Piraeus (Athens) departing November 10, 2027, and a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Piraeus to Barcelona departing November 21, 2027. A 13-day transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, leaves November 28, 2027, followed by an 11-day Caribbean round-trip from Fort Lauderdale departing December 11, 2027.
Guests previously booked on what had been the inaugural and first transatlantic cruises in December 2027 can move to the corresponding new sailings and remain among the first passengers aboard the transformed ship. The new voyages open for sale in early October.
Oosterdam's transformation adds new staterooms and dining spaces
Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line, said the accelerated schedule lets more guests experience upgrades including new stateroom and suite categories, the Grand Dutch Café, and a redesigned Ocean Bar. She added that the company was responding to what she called an unprecedented response to the Evolution program.
