Seattle – October 16, 2026 -- Holland America Line is adding Bar 1873 to Oosterdam, a two-story atrium bar with cocktails, live piano and a three-meter illuminated tulip sculpture, and bookings are now open for cruises aboard the transformed ship.

The bar debuts as part of Holland America Evolution, the cruise line's fleet update. Oosterdam also gets a reimagined Crow's Nest with expanded live music.

A glowing tulip anchors the Deck 2 atrium

London-based design firm SMC built Bar 1873 around Oosterdam's central atrium on Deck 2. The three-meter tulip sculpture, inspired by the Netherlands' national flower and the line's signature orange tulip, is visible from several vantage points and casts patterns of light across the space.

More than 200 heritage and repurposed objects, bespoke artwork and a visual timeline of the company's history surround it. Vintage-style maps and custom artwork add Dutch cultural and maritime touches.

Seattle – October 15, 2026 -- Holland America Line is offering up to 50% off cruise fares on select 2026 holiday sailings, which include Thanksgiving dinner, Brunch with Santa and a Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes at sea. The celebrations run across Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and New Year's voyages.

Ships get decorated, and New Year's Eve ends with a champagne toast

Whether a ship is in the Caribbean, Antarctica or Australia, the line promises seasonal décor, ceremonial tree lightings and special programming. Entertainment includes carol singing, holiday movies, crew performances and family activities. A New Year's Eve celebration welcomes 2027 with parties across the ships and a champagne toast.

Shipboard culinary teams also build gingerbread villages. Each ship gets its own design, and the teams spend hours planning, baking and assembling the pieces.

Seattle – October 05, 2026 -- Holland America Line will mark 80 years sailing Alaska in 2027 with a new eight-day Inside Passage cruise, expanded Denali Lodge rooms and the return of a 28-day Arctic Circle voyage.

Six ships will sail Alaska from April through September 2027

Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam and Zaandam will depart from Seattle, Vancouver and Whittier, Alaska. The new eight-day "Alaska Inside Passage" cruise runs roundtrip from Vancouver, stopping at Glacier Bay, Skagway, Ketchikan and Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

The 28-day "Legendary Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice" cruise returns for a third year aboard Noordam, departing June 6 from Seattle and sailing into the Bering Sea and Arctic Circle. Noordam will also offer a seven-day "Great Bear Rainforest" cruise, while Zaandam runs two 18-day "Great Bear Rainforest & Alaska Explorer" sailings.

Seattle – October 01, 2026 -- Holland America Line has opened bookings for its 2028 Canada & New England season, running May through October aboard the Volendam and Zuiderdam.

The season marks the regional debut of the post-Evolution Zuiderdam, following what the cruise line calls its largest fleet investment in 153 years. Cruises range from seven to 14 days, with longer Collectors' Voyages also available, departing from Montréal, Québec City, Boston, New York and Fort Lauderdale.

Zuiderdam brings new staterooms and dining to the region

The refurbished Zuiderdam introduces purpose-built Solo Verandah staterooms, new Bridgeview Suites with forward-facing views, and the Grand Dutch Café. Refreshed staterooms, updated guest spaces and Pinnacle Class-inspired enhancements round out the overhaul.

Seattle – September 22, 2026 -- Holland America Line has completed a major refresh of RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, its private Caribbean island, adding a new Beach Club, food pavilion and upgraded amenities in time for cruises sailing from October 2026 through April 2027.

A new Beach Club opens for booking in early October

The exclusive Beach Club will offer priority tendering from ship to shore, dedicated waiter service, all-inclusive alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, included beach accessories and specialty food offerings. The design uses the cruise line's signature blue, orange and cream palette paired with natural textures and open-air spaces.

Seattle – September 15, 2026 -- Holland America Line is moving up the renovation of its Oosterdam ship by five weeks, adding five new voyages after strong demand for cruises aboard the newly reimagined vessel.

Oosterdam's first post-renovation cruise now departs October 31, 2027

The ship will undergo its Holland America Evolution transformation in Marseille, France, returning to service with a 10-day voyage from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Trieste, Italy. Guests on that sailing will visit Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia.

Because the dry dock start date moved earlier, several previously scheduled voyages between September 11, 2027, and December 9, 2027, have been canceled. Affected guests and travel advisors are being contacted directly about rebooking options.
