Holland America Unveils Revamped Private Island Ahead of 30th Anniversary

Seattle – September 22, 2026 -- Holland America Line has completed a major refresh of RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, its private Caribbean island, adding a new Beach Club, food pavilion and upgraded amenities in time for cruises sailing from October 2026 through April 2027.

A new Beach Club opens for booking in early October

The exclusive Beach Club will offer priority tendering from ship to shore, dedicated waiter service, all-inclusive alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, included beach accessories and specialty food offerings. The design uses the cruise line's signature blue, orange and cream palette paired with natural textures and open-air spaces.

A new food pavilion adds a complimentary barbecue menu

Beyond the Beach Club, the island now features a food pavilion serving an island-inspired barbecue menu at no extra charge. Existing bars and eateries are being renovated, cabanas upgraded, and the beach area expanded with more daybeds, upgraded canopy loungers for two, and additional beach chairs.

Four pickleball courts, introduced last season, remain part of the island

The courts joined the island's amenities in the prior season and continue as part of the broader guest experience alongside the newly finished upgrades.

More than two dozen Caribbean itineraries will feature the enhanced island

Guests can visit the updated RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay on over two dozen sailings between October 2026 and April 2027, ahead of the island's 30th anniversary celebration in 2027. Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line, said the improvements reflect the company's commitment to invest in the guest experience.

Holiday sailings include fare discounts

Holland America Line is offering its Save on Sunshine promotion for Caribbean holiday cruises, with savings of up to 50 percent off cruise fares and free kids' fares on select sailings. 2026 holiday itineraries range from seven-day trips to longer journeys covering lesser-visited islands, historic ports and a Panama Canal route.
