Princess Cruises' Sphere-Class Ships Named #1 Mega Cruise Ship by Readers

Fort Lauderdale – October 06, 2026 -- Princess Cruises has been named the #1 Mega Cruise Ship in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards, with the honor going to its Sphere Class vessels Sun Princess and Star Princess.

Sun Princess wins the category for a third straight year

Sun Princess has now topped the Mega Cruise Ship category in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Star Princess, which only debuted in October 2025, earned the recognition in its first year of eligibility after also appearing on Condé Nast Traveler's 2026 Hot List.

"Being recognized, once again, by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler is an incredible honor and a tremendous testament to our entire Princess team," said Marie Lee, Princess Cruises Chief Marketing Officer, adding that the credit belongs to crew members delivering the onboard experience daily.

Each ship carries 4,300 guests across 177,000 tons

Sun Princess sails Mediterranean itineraries while Star Princess operates in Alaska, with both also covering Caribbean routes. Onboard highlights include the Santorini-inspired glass venue The Dome, the ocean-view Piazza, and the Princess Arena entertainment space.

Dining options span Love by Britto, Makoto Ocean and The Butcher's Block by Dario, alongside additional restaurants, bars and lounges. Guests seeking a quieter retreat can book the Sanctuary Collection, which includes a private club, restaurant and suite lounge.

Readers' Choice Awards cover hotels, airlines and cruise lines

The Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards are based on reader votes across travel categories including hotels, resorts, destinations and airlines. Sun Princess launched in 2024 as the line's first Sphere-Class ship, with Star Princess following in October 2025 as its sister vessel.
