Albuquerque – November 04, 2026 -- Luxury travelers are booking long-dreamed-of trips for 2027, with example fares in one agency's list running from $7,590 to $75,588 per person. Pavlus Travel and Cruise, a Travel Leaders Network member, named seven top bucket-list trips based on late-2026 customer inquiries and bookings. Founder and CEO Craig Pavlus says clients are telling planners that "the time is now."
Antarctica tops the request list
Pavlus calls Antarctica its customers' most-requested adventure. Some travelers sail from South America across the often rough Drake Passage. Others take a Fly-Cruise, using charter flights to and from King George Island instead. Small-ship lines include National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions, Ponant, Seabourn, Silversea and Viking.
Australia, New Zealand and the Kimberley draw repeat visitors
Travelers who have already visited the South Pacific now want longer trips. Options include Tauck's 20-day "Grand Australia and New Zealand" tour and Silversea's 26-day cruise departing December 10, 2027. Customers are also asking about northwestern Australia's remote Kimberley region, which Seabourn and Scenic serve.
Svalbard and the Galapagos promise wildlife encounters
Viking's 15-day "Iceland and Norway's Arctic Explorer" runs between Bergen and Reykjavik. It gives two full days at Svalbard, home to polar bears and Arctic foxes, and starts at $7,999 per person, double occupancy. In Ecuador, Silversea's 100-passenger Silver Origin and G Adventures' 16-night "Complete Galapagos" tour on the 16-passenger Eden both sail the islands.
Domestic tours cover jazz and American history
Globus offers a 10-day Nashville-to-New Orleans music tour on multiple 2027 dates, with a 12-day version that adds time in New Orleans. Tauck's 12-day "In Freedom's Footsteps: New York to Washington, D.C." starts at $7,590 per person, double occupancy, and visits Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Williamsburg, Richmond and Mount Vernon.
African safaris range from port-day visits to 18-guest expeditions
Ocean cruises can include a day or two-day safari from a Kenyan or South African port. AmaWaterways sails the Chobe River in Zimbabwe. A&K's 14-night "Ultimate Great Migration Safari" is limited to 18 guests and starts at $17,995 per person, double occupancy, in 2027 and 2028.
Grand Voyages stretch from the Arctic to the Pacific
National Geographic Resolution carries 138 passengers on a 24-day Northwest Passage voyage between Nome, Alaska, and Nuuk, Greenland. Departures are July 29, 2027, and July 28, 2028, with fares from $59,000 and $69,000 per person respectively.
Seabourn Pursuit's 64-day expedition from Broome, Australia, to San Antonio, Chile, starts at $75,588 per person for the August 26, 2027, departure. Oceania Cruises' 71-day "Grand South America Adventure" departs October 27, 2028. Pavlus also reports that bookings for four- to six-month World Cruises are up sizably this year.
