New York – September 12, 2026 -- A new 10-episode series called "The Hunt for Rolling Treasure" will hold a premiere showcase on Sept. 30 at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, featuring six rare American muscle cars valued at up to $1.5 million each.
The show tracks three collectors hunting down rare 1960s and 1970s muscle cars
Co-created by Chris Mazzilli, executive producer of "Downey's Dream Cars" and "The Lost Corvettes," and Larry Hochberg, producer of "Pimp My Ride" and "The Curse of Oak Island," the series is produced by Bungalow Media + Entertainment with Dream Car Restorations. It stars Mazzilli, Dave Weber of Dream Car Restorations, and collector Greg Lotko, who traveled across North America -- including Texas, Las Vegas, Florida, California, Colorado, and Canada -- to locate the vehicles, with exclusive filming access at Mecum Auctions.
Six cars worth millions will be on display at the September premiere
The showcase lineup includes a 1965 Shelby GT350, one of 562 built and valued at $1.5 million; a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 Convertible, one of just 29 made and valued at $800,000; and a 1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 429 with under 4,500 miles, valued at $1.1 million. Also featured are a 1973 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty ($250,000), a 1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro ($450,000), and a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette L89 Coupe ($250,000).
Producers say the show highlights ownership, not museum storage
According to Lotko, the goal for the featured cars is that they get driven rather than kept as static collector pieces. The cars are being restored at Dream Car Restorations on Long Island, ranging from ground-up rebuilds to period-correct "day two" modifications mimicking 1960s and 1970s showroom vehicles with aftermarket parts.
The full series will feature 17 additional vehicles across future episodes
Beyond the showcase cars, the series will cover vehicles including a 1968 Shelby GT 500 KR, a 1987 Buick GNX, a 1993 Corvette ZR1, and a 2023 Dodge Challenger Super Stock Convertible Stage 3. Mazzilli said his own history with muscle cars began with a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle, while Lotko's first was a 1972 Chevelle SS purchased for $1,800 at age 15. Comedian and actor Adam Ferrera is set to host a Q&A with the producers and cast at the September premiere event.
