Berlin – September 07, 2026 -- Ascentiz is showing off what it calls the world's first modular exoskeleton platform at IFA 2026, letting users swap hip and knee assistance modules on the same wearable frame.
The company's H and K modules attach to a shared base called the Exo-Belt, which houses the battery, controller, and control algorithms. Users can click in the H module, the K module, or both at once, switching between them manually in seconds using a MOLLE quick-release system.
The H module powers forward motion, the K module manages knee load
Ascentiz-H focuses on hip propulsion for walking, climbing stairs, running, and faster movement. Ascentiz-K adds what the company calls Adaptive Knee Augmentation, combining dynamic knee assistance with sustained active support and load management across flat ground, stairs, and inclines. Both modules rely on what Ascentiz terms Adaptive Motion Intelligence, adjusting assistance in real time based on detected movement conditions within a user-selected mode.
A software layer called BodyOS is meant to keep the system growing
Underneath the hardware, Ascentiz runs a shared control platform called BodyOS, paired with a mechanical layer called AZ-Lock and a communication layer using CAN-FD. The company plans to release BodyOS's source code in 2026, aiming to let future modules -- built by Ascentiz or outside developers -- run on the same base system rather than requiring a new device with each generation.
"Different activities demand different things from hips and knees," said Cody Kou, vice president of Ascentiz, explaining the decision to build a shared platform instead of a single fixed-leg device.
Pricing starts at 1,599 euros for the base hip module
Ascentiz-H is already available through the company's online store, priced at 1,599 euros for the Pro version and 2,299 euros for the Ultra version. Ascentiz-K costs 2,399 euros (Pro) or 2,999 euros (Ultra), while combined H+K configurations run 3,599 euros (Pro Combo) and 3,999 euros (Ultra Combo). Availability dates for the K and H+K versions have not yet been announced.
