Chester County, Tenn. – October 01, 2026 -- Animal Rescue Corps (ARC) removed 24 surviving animals from a property in rural Chester County, Tennessee, after law enforcement requested emergency assistance with an animal cruelty case on Sept. 26, 2026.

Many of the animals were emaciated, chained or confined in small, dirty enclosures. Investigators at the scene also discovered the remains of multiple animals that did not survive.

A dog named Joleen was rushed directly from the scene for emergency hospitalization. She required a blood transfusion and is being treated for heartworm disease, Caval syndrome, anemia, ehrlichiosis, intestinal parasites, severe flea infestation and fluid buildup in her abdomen. She remains under veterinary care and is expected to stay hospitalized for several more days.

ARC documented conditions to support the ongoing cruelty investigation

The organization's rescue team worked alongside law enforcement to remove the surviving animals while collecting evidence.
