San Antonio – November 03, 2026 -- WeSalute members can join a free virtual Veterans Day tribute on Thursday, November 5, 2026, with live sessions at 12:00 PM ET and 6:30 PM ET, plus prize giveaways that include 50 one-year WeSalute+ memberships and 125 pairs of IMAX movie tickets.
The 14th annual "Heroes Meet Heroes" event runs on Zoom and kicks off National Veterans and Military Families Month. Admission is free for WeSalute members with online registration. Avis Budget Group sponsors the event.
Twelve panelists split across two 60-minute sessions
H. Scott Higgins, WeSalute co-founder, U.S. Army combat veteran and All-American wrestler, moderates both sessions. Each one opens with panelists reflecting on what service means to them as Veterans Day approaches. Live Q&A and member giveaways follow.
The noon session features Olympic triathlete Joe Maloy, Army combat veteran Josh Peyton, 2016 track and field Olympian Priscilla Loomis, Marine Corps combat veteran Gerry Byrne, figure skater Katelyn Good and Brigadier General Loree Sutton, M.D.
The 6:30 PM session includes World Champion wrestler and Army combat veteran Sally Roberts, Lieutenant General Martin R. Steele (USMC, Ret.), Olympian Ben Kanute, Marine Corps veteran Michael Quiello, Olympic bronze medalist swimmer Kim Vandenberg and retired First Sergeant Tommy Jones.
Higgins said the event gives veterans and athletes a forum to exchange lessons on perseverance, healing invisible wounds and leading with purpose in civilian life.

Event moved online after seven years at a New York club
Lin Higgins, WeSalute founder and CEO, conceived the event. It was held for seven years in the Trophy Room of the New York Athletic Club in New York City before moving online. The virtual format reaches WeSalute's more than 3 million members worldwide.
