Charlotte, N.C. – September 11, 2026 -- Husqvarna has launched three new residential chainsaws -- the 445S, 450S Rancher, and 450X Rancher -- now available for homeowners and landowners.
The 450X Rancher becomes the first 400-series saw with AutoTune technology
AutoTune automatically adjusts engine settings based on fuel quality, altitude, temperature, and humidity. Combined with a simplified starting procedure, the 450X Rancher is up to 40% easier to start compared to the Husqvarna 450 Rancher, according to the company. It also cuts up to 30% faster than that predecessor model, thanks to a durable hybrid crankcase and an upgraded X-Torq engine.
The 445S cuts 20% faster than its predecessor model
The 445S and 450S Rancher build on the existing 400-series platform with optimized X-Torq engines and reinforced crankcases for better cooling. The 445S adds a quick-release cylinder cover, captured bar nuts, and high-visibility felling marks, delivering up to 20% faster cutting compared to the Husqvarna 445 chainsaw, measured in cm2/second. The 450S Rancher continues Husqvarna's best-selling Rancher line in North America, aimed at landowners managing larger properties.
All three models share the same fatigue-reducing features
Every new saw includes Smart Start for easier ignition, Air Injection to extend engine life, and LowVib to reduce operator fatigue. Soft-grip handles, automatic oil pumps, and X-CUT chains round out the lineup, designed for tasks ranging from firewood cutting to storm cleanup.
Ben McDermott, Sr. Manager of the Handheld Portfolio at Husqvarna North America, said the 450X Rancher brings "smarter, more adaptive performance" to the 400-series, while the 445S and 450S Rancher continue the company's focus on power and ease of use for homeowners.
