Berlin – September 09, 2026 -- TCL unveiled its new TAB A1 tablet series at IFA 2026, offering four models split across two screen sizes and two display technologies to match different daily uses.
Four models target streaming, study, and work
The lineup includes the TCL TAB A1, TCL TAB A1 NXTPAPER, TCL TAB A1 Plus, and TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER. TCL built the range around two choices: screen size and display type, letting buyers pick the combination that fits their routine.
11-inch models favor portability, Plus versions add screen space
The 11-inch TAB A1 models measure 6.2mm thick, with 2.1K resolution and a refresh rate up to 90Hz, aimed at users who carry a tablet between home, school, and work. The 12.2-inch TAB A1 Plus models step up to 2.4K resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and a refresh rate up to 120Hz, giving more room for movies, browsing, document work, and split-screen multitasking.
NXTPAPER models add anti-glare coating and blue-light reduction
Standard Display models focus on sharp, smooth visuals for streaming and everyday browsing. NXTPAPER models target readers, students, and long-session users with anti-glare and anti-reflective coatings, hardware-based blue-light reduction, and selectable display modes.
TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER adds a dedicated mode-switching key
The top model, the TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER, pairs its 12.2-inch 2.4K screen with a dedicated NXTPAPER key for switching between three modes: Standard Mode for full-color entertainment, Color Paper Mode for softer viewing of illustrated content and reading, and Ink Paper Mode for monochrome, focus-oriented work. Customizable gestures give quicker access to AI features and the NXTPAPER interface.
All four models run Android 16 with Google services
TCL Europe's chief marketing officer, Stefan Streit, said the series gives buyers a clearer choice between two screen sizes and two fundamentally different display types so more people can find a tablet that fits naturally into their daily life.
The TCL TAB A1 series will launch in select European markets. Pricing, colors, configurations, accessories, and availability dates will vary by country and sales channel, with details to be announced separately per market.
