AI-Voiced Documentary on Parkinson's Debuts at Twin Cities Film Fest

MINNEAPOLIS – September 08, 2026 -- A 76-minute documentary that uses artificial intelligence to recreate a Parkinson's patient's pre-disease voice has been selected for the Twin Cities Film Fest, running Oct. 15-24, with a screening set for noon on Oct. 24 at the Edina Mann Theatre in Edina, Minnesota.

The film pairs a real family's 28-year Parkinson's journey with AI narration.

Come Talk To ME, directed by Deacon Warner and produced by first-time producer Jackie Hunt Christensen, follows Christensen, her husband Paul, their two adult sons and a group of friends living with Parkinson's disease (PD). The film examines how communication changes as the disease progresses and how it reshapes relationships, particularly for care partners.

An AI-generated voice named "JHC2K" narrates the film.

Christensen used AI to recreate her own voice as it sounded two years after her 1998 diagnosis, before PD had visibly affected her speech. That voice, dubbed JHC2K, asks questions written by Christensen's present-day self and serves as the documentary's narrator throughout.

Production included interviews at an international Parkinson's summit in Austin, Texas.

The film documents behind-the-scenes moments from Christensen's production process, including a trip to an international summit for Parkinson's support group leaders in Austin, where she and Paul conducted interviews. It also includes reflections from their two sons on how nearly three decades of living with PD shaped their family dynamic.

Screening hosts report strong audience response to post-film discussions.

Screening host Kari Kielblock said all 23 attendees at one showing found the film relevant to their own lives. Viewer Marna Anderson called it "a realistic and beautiful look at a family who is learning to love more deeply through a painful and difficult disease," adding that it also provided useful resources for viewers.

The documentary is available for community screenings worldwide.
