Two of its esteemed employees were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the field, highlighting the company's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and women's leadership in the industry.

Marissa Altmeier: A Champion for Sustainability

Marissa Altmeier, Packaging Technologist Manager at Pernod Ricard Winemakers, was awarded the prestigious Sustainability Leader Award for her pioneering work on the "Going Hoodless" initiative. This groundbreaking project successfully removed poly-laminate (aluminum) hoods from eight of the company's sparkling wine bottle SKUs,resulting in the diversion of four tonnes of waste from landfills. Altmeier's dedication to minimizing environmental impact and driving sustainable packaging solutions exemplifies Pernod Ricard Winemakers' commitment to a more responsible future.

In addition to her Sustainability Leader Award, Altmeier was also a finalist for the Packaging Technologist of the Year Award for her role in implementing a lighter-weight Riesling bottle in Australia. This innovation is projected to reduce CO2 emissions by 15.4%, showcasing the company's commitment to continuous improvement in packaging sustainability.

Charlotte Terris: A Leader in Manufacturing Innovation

Charlotte Terris, Procurement and Development Manager, was recognized as a finalist for the Manufacturing Leader Award for her leadership in transitioning wine and Ready To Drink brands from white to brown cardboard packaging.This initiative has not only increased the recycled content in the company's packaging by 27-32% but has also significantly reduced water usage in the production process, further contributing to Pernod Ricard Winemakers' environmental goals.
