NEW YORK – November 04, 2026 -- A daily drink mix called NOVOS Core improved blood vessel function, arterial flexibility and systolic blood pressure in healthy adults aged 40 and older over six months, according to a randomized trial published in the European Heart Journal Open.
The STAMINA trial was led by Professor Christian Heiss of the University of Surrey, together with colleagues at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. It was double-blind and placebo-controlled. Participants already had measures within normal ranges, which leaves little room for improvement.
Three vascular measures improved against placebo
Flow-mediated dilation (FMD), the primary endpoint that tracks how well arteries widen as blood flow increases, rose 47% from baseline in the NOVOS Core group. The adjusted improvement versus placebo was 2.9 percentage points.
Pulse wave velocity, a standard measure of arterial stiffness, fell with NOVOS Core and rose with placebo. The adjusted difference was 1.18 meters per second. Systolic blood pressure fell 6.1 mmHg more with NOVOS Core than with placebo.
One hour after the first serving, blood vessel function was already 3.9 percentage points above placebo. Participants who started with the weakest vessel function and highest blood pressure tended to improve the most. Cholesterol and other blood lipids stayed the same.
The trial enrolled 61 adults, just over half of them women
Of the 61 non-smoking participants, 33 took NOVOS Core and 28 took a placebo matched for look and taste. Thirty-one were women. People with unstable cardiovascular disease, heart rhythm disorders or active cancer were excluded.
Participants took one 15-gram serving daily. Six-month measurements were taken in a fasted state, about 24 hours after the last serving.
The University of Surrey conducted the investigator-initiated trial, registered as NCT06145087. NOVOS supplied the product, the placebo and an unrestricted contribution toward research costs. According to the company, it had no role in study design, data collection, primary interpretation or the decision to publish.
NOVOS Core combines 12 ingredients in one drink mix
The formula is built around the 12 biological hallmarks of aging. Heiss said the team found favorable changes in endothelial function, arterial stiffness and systolic blood pressure, calling the findings encouraging.
NOVOS is evaluating follow-up studies of NOVOS Core in muscle function, brain and cognition, and skin.
The statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and the product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
