Cumming – November 04, 2026 -- Patients of ConfiDENT in Alpharetta and Cumming, Georgia, now have a dentist who belongs to a group that fewer than 4% of U.S. dentists are invited to join. Dr. Cesar Tapia, the practice's founder, was awarded Fellowship in the American College of Dentists (ACD) on October 24, 2026.
Fellowship is by invitation, based on leadership
Tapia received the honor at the College's Annual Meeting and Convocation in Santa Barbara, California. The ACD was founded in 1920 to recognize dentists who advance excellence, ethics, professionalism and leadership in oral healthcare. Invitations are based on demonstrated leadership and contributions to the profession and society. The annual Convocation formally welcomes each new class of Fellows.
Tapia called the moment "one of the proudest moments of my career."
Tapia built his credentials in implant dentistry
Originally from Lima, Peru, Tapia earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery and completed his residency at the University of Colorado before founding ConfiDENT in Alpharetta. He holds two master's credentials in implantology, from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics. In 2025, he was named an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
He continues to pursue advanced education in implant and restorative dentistry so patients in Alpharetta, Cumming and nearby communities can get comprehensive care close to home.
