St. Louis Endodontic Practice Marks Five Years Under Same Doctor

St. Louis – September 13, 2026 -- Archway Endodontics is marking five years of operation this September, with Dr. Brian R. Judd, DDS, MS, having treated patients at the practice since it opened its doors in September 2021.

The practice, located in the Hampton Village Plaza Medical Center at Hampton and Chippewa, focuses exclusively on endodontics, the dental specialty covering the interior of the tooth and the tissue surrounding the roots. Dr. Judd purchased the practice in August 2023, meaning patients and referring dentists across St. Louis County and Southern Illinois have worked with the same specialist for the entirety of Archway's five-year history.

Dr. Judd trained as a general dentist before specializing in endodontics

Dr. Judd earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado Denver and spent five years practicing general dentistry in the Wichita, Kansas area before deciding to specialize. He completed his endodontic residency at Saint Louis University's Center for Advanced Dental Education, serving as chief resident and earning a Master's degree in Dentistry through two additional years of training.

His master's research covered one of the first clinical trials of the GentleWave System

Dr. Judd's thesis research examined the GentleWave System, an advanced root canal technology. He has also been invited to deliver the keynote address to the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, an organization spanning five districts and more than 1,000 general dentists, speaking on the relationship between root canal therapy and restorative dentistry.

The practice added three staff members and renovated its surgical suites over the past year

Archway Endodontics brought on an office manager, a dental assistant, and a front desk coordinator, while renovating its three surgical suites and updating its website. The practice offers root canals, root canal retreatment, apicoectomy, 3-D imaging, cracked tooth assessment and treatment, and internal bleaching.

"Root canal therapy has a reputation that does not match what modern endodontics can actually do," said Dr. Judd, owner and endodontist at Archway Endodontics. "Getting patients out of pain and helping them keep their natural teeth is the most satisfying work I have done in dentistry."
