Glendora, Calif. – October 01, 2026 -- Los Angeles Pacific University (LAPU) has officially changed its name to Azusa Pacific University Global (APU Global), aligning its fully online degree programs with the Azusa Pacific University (APU) brand.
APU Global continues to offer 100% online, asynchronous associate's, bachelor's, and master's degree programs built for working adults. APU, the traditional campus-based institution, keeps its focus on on-campus and hybrid education.
Current students see no disruption to coursework or support
For students already enrolled under the former LAPU name, the switch to APU Global changes only the branding. Course schedules, faculty support, and degree progress continue as planned.
Two separately accredited schools now share one brand identity
Despite the shared name, APU and APU Global remain independently accredited institutions, each with its own leadership, faculty handbooks, and academic governance.
"By aligning under the APU name, we're creating a recognized, powerful identity for online learners," said Jay Goin, president of APU Global. He added that the move reduces market confusion and helps students find the right educational path.
Adam J. Morris, president of Azusa Pacific University, said the rebrand presents a unified identity to prospective students, whether they want a residential campus experience or a fully online degree.
APU ranks No. 1 among Christian universities for alumni earnings
APU holds the top spot for alumni earnings among institutions in the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities. The university, founded in 1899, enrolls more than 7,000 students across its main campus in Azusa, regional Southern California locations, and online programs.
