Neakasa's Riko Feeder Wins IFA 2026 Award for Fresh Wet Meals

Berlin – September 12, 2026 -- Neakasa's Riko smart wet-meal feeder has been named an IFA 2026 Innovation Award Honoree at IFA Berlin, recognized for automating fresh wet-meal preparation for cats.

Riko grinds and mixes food on demand instead of storing pre-made meals

Unlike standard automatic feeders that hold prepared wet food, Riko stores freeze-dried food in dry form and grinds and mixes it with water at each scheduled feeding time. Owners can adjust the water-to-food ratio from 1:1 to 5:1, set more than 20 meals per day, and choose portions between 1 and 15 grams.

One fill can last up to 10 days for a single cat

The device's 3-liter food bin and 2.4-liter water tank can support up to 10 days of automated feeding for one 12-pound adult cat, depending on portion size and schedule. The companion Neakasa app lets owners manage feeding times, portions, food and water levels, and feeding history remotely. Riko launches across all sales platforms on September 8, 2026.

Neakasa also showed off a redesigned self-cleaning litter box

The Neakasa M9 Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box drew strong interest at the company's IFA booth. It uses a TILT-SAFE Rotation design that keeps the litter chamber open throughout the cleaning cycle to reduce the risk of a cat becoming trapped or pinched.

The M9 includes a 96-liter OpenView Cabin with open sightlines, and a PureTower Odor Control System combining activated carbon and a desiccant layer to manage smell and moisture. A low-entry design, with an entrance roughly 26 centimeters high, is built to make access easier for kittens and senior cats. The M9 launches across all channels on October 9, 2026.
