Avon, Ohio – September 05, 2026 -- K1 Speed has opened a new 70,000-square-foot indoor go-karting facility in Avon, less than 20 miles from downtown Cleveland, marking the company's third location in Ohio.
Electric karts hit speeds up to 45 mph on a 1,300-foot track
The all-weather center lets guests race OTL Italian electric go-karts on an indoor circuit. The Adult Superleggero kart, for racers at least 58 inches tall, reaches 45 mph, while Junior karts for those at least 48 inches tall top out at 20 mph. Every kart includes a roll bar and a four-point safety harness.
The facility adds roughly 40 jobs in Lorain County
Beyond entertainment, K1 Speed Cleveland is expected to create around 40 jobs for the city of Avon. "Our new center in Avon is ready to welcome guests from across the greater Cleveland area," said K1 Speed Co-Founder and CMO Susan Danglard, adding that the venue will host birthday parties, company events and community gatherings.
Winners can advance toward Porsche's professional racing series
Racers can compete through Challenge GP, K1 Speed's international karting ladder for juniors, teens and adults, with paths to state, national and international events. The Cleveland location will take part in the Porsche Motorsport North America Talent Search, which selects one teen and one adult driver nationally to receive a waived entry fee for a future season of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama or the Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West by Yokohama.
Off-track amenities include 20-plus arcade games and a trackside restaurant
The Avon center offers more than 20 arcade games, including air hockey, claw machines and prize games. The on-site Paddock Lounge restaurant overlooks the track and will soon add beer and wine for guests 21 and older who have finished racing. The facility also offers private event rooms and full-venue rentals for corporate gatherings, arranged through K1 Speed's Event Specialists.
K1 Speed Cleveland is located at 1500 Nagel Road, Avon, Ohio 44011.
