Boca Raton – – October 13, 2026 -- The Sanborn, an eight-story private members' club at 100 NE First Avenue, won unanimous approval from the Boca Raton Community Redevelopment Agency on Tuesday and is set to open in 2028 as downtown's first club of its kind.
The club opens across from Sanborn Square, its namesake park
Membership will be by application and invitation, aimed at residents of Boca Raton and neighboring towns. The founders describe the guiding idea as "Intuitively yours."
Speakeasy, cigar lounge and F1 simulators fill the confirmed amenities
The club has revealed only a few features so far. They include a speakeasy and a cigar lounge with humidor lockers for members. A game room will have golf and Formula 1 simulators. On the roof, a pool deck leads to a sunset lounge with fire pits overlooking downtown.
Programming will extend beyond the building, with private evenings such as watch showcases, days on the water and philanthropic work in the community.
Restaurants, their chefs and the supper club stage lineup will be announced in the coming months. "We'd rather people discover it," said founder Steven Newman.
Silver Street Hospitality and HDA Architects shape the project
Silver Street Hospitality, founded by James Gersten and behind more than 75 restaurant openings, is developing the restaurants and bars. HDA Architects of Boca Raton designed the building.
The vote followed a unanimous Planning and Zoning Board vote on Oct. 1. The club meets downtown code without variances, with valet parking in an automated garage below the building and additional offsite parking.
