8 Ball Pool Hits LG Smart TVs With Couch Play Multiplayer Mode

Englewood Cliffs, N.J. – October 02, 2026 -- LG Electronics has partnered with Miniclip to bring 8 Ball Pool, the mobile game with more than 1 billion downloads worldwide, to LG Smart TVs for the first time. The free-to-play title launches this week on LG Smart TVs and monitors running webOS 6.0 and above across 165 countries.

A new Couch Play Mode lets two players compete on one screen.
LG and Miniclip built the feature specifically for this release, enabling 1-on-1 multiplayer matches controlled with the LG Magic Remote. Players can aim, adjust power and shoot using the remote, with optional in-game item purchases available for personalization. Exclusive items designed for LG TV users are also being offered to mark the launch.

The game is accessible through LG Apps or the LG Gaming Portal, where users can earn badges and rewards by completing tasks.

LG's gaming library has tripled to over 1,000 titles in two years.
According to internal company data covering January 2024 through May 2026, LG expanded its web-based gaming catalog threefold. Separate data from June 2025 to June 2026 shows overall gaming usage rose 67 percent year over year, total hours played grew 71 percent, and individual gaming sessions increased 50 percent.

Screens over 100 inches turn the game into a life-size pool table.
On LG's largest displays, including its QNED evo and Micro RGB TVs, 8 Ball Pool renders at real-world scale, based on measurements matching a 7-foot pool table.

Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG's Media Entertainment Solution Company, said the partnership expands LG's free premium gaming ecosystem on webOS, adding that big-screen-customized titles are turning TVs into interactive entertainment hubs.
