Pensacola – September 16, 2026 -- "Safe Ground: A Green Beret's Mission to Remove Ukraine's Landmines" is now streaming on Prime Video in the U.S. and UK, available with a Prime membership or to rent or buy.
The premiere date marks Ryan Hendrickson's personal "Alive Day"
September 12 is the anniversary of the day retired U.S. Army Green Beret Ryan Hendrickson survived an IED explosion in Afghanistan in 2010 while attempting to rescue an Afghan soldier. Hendrickson, a Purple Heart and Silver Star recipient, recovered and returned to active duty before founding Tip of the Spear Landmine Removal.
The film documents his team's work clearing landmines in Ukraine
Tip of the Spear removes explosive remnants of war from Ukrainian land, aiming to restore fields and communities for farmers, families, and children. "Every landmine we pull out of the ground in Ukraine is a life that gets to continue," Hendrickson said, describing the work as a continuation of his military service.
Amazon's Global Head of Military Affairs frames the project as veteran-led humanitarian work
Charlotte La Belle said Amazon's relationship with Tip of the Spear demonstrates that veterans who defended the nation are now leading critical humanitarian efforts abroad. Colby Barrett, the film's producer and a former U.S. Marine Corps Captain, said Prime Video helped share a story of "service, sacrifice, and hope," adding that Ukrainians are pursuing family, freedom, and a safe home through the mine-removal effort.
The documentary is part of a five-film series on faith and war in Ukraine
"Safe Ground" belongs to the "Faith in War" series, produced by the team behind "A Faith Under Siege." The series presents personal stories from Ukraine centered on courage, sacrifice, and faith during wartime.
