Charlotte -- Sandbox VR opens its second North Carolina venue on September 18, 2026, at The Station at LoSo in Charlotte, offering guests 20% off through September.
The Charlotte venue spans over 4,400 square feet with four private VR rooms
Groups of up to six guests can suit up with headsets, haptic vests, and motion sensors for full-body immersion in each room. The technology lets players see and physically interact with one another during sessions, and guests leave with personalized highlight videos of their sessions.
The Charlotte location is operated in partnership with Nextgen Virtual LLC and joins Sandbox VR's existing Winston-Salem venue as the company's second North Carolina site.
Franchise owner Ritesh Kumar says the venue fits Charlotte's growing entertainment scene
"We are excited to bring Sandbox VR to Charlotte and introduce a truly unique social entertainment experience to the community," said Kumar, who owns the Sandbox VR Charlotte franchise. He added that the city's growth as a destination for dining, nightlife, and interactive entertainment made it a fitting location.
Sandbox VR has crossed $300 million in lifetime sales since 2016
The company now operates more than 90 locations across five continents and 12 countries, drawing over 150,000 players monthly. It has sold 5 million lifetime tickets and collected more than 200,000 five-star reviews from guests worldwide.
Sandbox VR's content lineup includes Stranger Things: Catalyst, developed with Netflix, and the Age of Dinosaurs experience, created in partnership with the Natural History Museum of London and dinosaur experts. The company was built by veteran developers from EA, Sony, and Ubisoft, and counts Andreessen Horowitz, Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund, Gobi Partners, Craft, and Stanford University among its backers, alongside individual investors including Kevin Durant, Justin Timberlake, and Katy Perry.
