Unterföhring – September 09, 2026 -- German broadcaster SAT.1 has started production on the fifth season of its reality series "Promis unter Palmen" ("Celebrities Under Palm Trees"), with the new episodes set to air in spring 2027 on SAT.1 and streaming platform Joyn.
The show relocates a group of German celebrities to a villa in Thailand, where they live under constant camera surveillance and compete in challenges designed to test how far they'll go for money.
Twelve celebrities move into the Thailand villa
The confirmed cast includes fashion designer Harald Glööckler, reality personality Ariel from "Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!," singer Marc Terenzi, and reality veteran Elena Miras. Actors Stephen Dürr and Peer Kusmagk join the lineup alongside reality stars Vanessa Brahimi ("Das große Promi-Büßen"), Umut Tekin, Ginger Costello-Wollersheim ("Promi Big Brother"), Chris Broy ("Kampf der Realitystars," "The 50"), Cathy Lugner ("Promi Big Brother"), and Jessica Zemer ("Die Realitystar Academy," "Beauty & The Nerd").
A top prize of up to 50,000 euros awaits the winner
Contestants face so-called "captain's games," designed to push them past personal fears, alongside group challenges that require the otherwise competitive cast to cooperate as a team. Only one participant will ultimately walk away with the show's golden coconut trophy and a cash prize of up to 50,000 euros.
The series carries the subtitle "Für Geld mache ich alles!" ("I'll do anything for money!"), reflecting its central premise of testing celebrities' willingness to endure discomfort and humiliation for financial reward.
Production involves two companies working under SAT.1
"Promis unter Palmen" is produced by EndemolShine Germany in collaboration with Rainer Laux Productions, commissioned by SAT.1.
