Austin, Texas – October 15, 2026 -- Poker players can now take a free daily decision quiz called Cardle at cardle.poker, with no sign-up or download required. Lucid Poker, the mobile-first training app founded by heads-up poker legend Doug Polk, launched the web version today.
Polk hand-picks and builds every Cardle spot himself. The puzzles mix bluffs, spots that look like bluffs but are actually checks, and different sizings for value. After each hand, players get a short breakdown of the decision that shows both the raw solver output and Polk's own recommendation. The company calls it the Wordle for poker.
Polk won $1.2 million against Daniel Negreanu using the tool
Polk faced Daniel Negreanu in the "High Stakes Feud," playing more than 25,000 hands of $200/$400 no-limit hold'em from late 2020 to February 2021. Negreanu is a Poker Hall of Famer, an eight-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and a two-time WSOP Player of the Year, with over $57 million in live tournament earnings. Polk finished roughly $1.2 million ahead. According to the company, Lucid Poker was at the heart of his preparation.
Polk said the goal behind Lucid was to put that kind of training in the hands of anyone with a phone, so you don't need to be a full-time pro to train like one.
The app packs 100+ million solved hands into a mobile design
Lucid is built mobile-first and aims to avoid the friction of traditional solver software. Its features include:
- The Daily Cardle puzzle
- Instant Decision Ratings that grade each move as Best, Good, Inaccuracy, Mistake or Blunder
- More than 100 million solved hands across cash, tournaments, Spin & Go and HU SNG
- EV and equity heat maps for postflop analysis
- Custom re-solving and a built-in solver
- Native apps for Android, Windows, macOS and iOS
Lucid already has over 10,000 players training on the app and almost 1,000 Daily Cardles to play.
Pricing starts at free, with Pro at $49 a month
Lucid offers a free Basic tier and a 14-day Pro trial in the app. Lucid Pro costs $49 per month or $490 per year.
The roadmap includes deeper simulation tools, expanded game formats and Blitz Poker, a quick, gamified way to play and learn with power-ups. CEO Mike Brady said the app aims to replace phone scrolling with five minutes that make you a better poker player.
