iScreen Adds Interactive Digital Pet to iPhone Home Screens

iScreen Adds Interactive Digital Pet to iPhone Home Screens

SHERIDAN, WYOMING -- August 28, 2026 -- iScreen, a mobile customization app used by more than 100 million people, launched an interactive digital pet feature for iPhone Home Screens on August 28, 2026. The Los Angeles-based company built the update around Nimori, an original animated character that users can place alongside new widgets and stickers. The release lets iPhone owners turn a static grid of app icons into a screen with a character that reacts and moves.

Nimori Turns A Static Home Screen Into A Moving Character

Nimori is not a wallpaper or an app icon. It is built as an interactive figure that sits on the Home Screen and responds within the layout users create, giving the screen a sense of motion instead of a fixed image. Users can pair Nimori with themed widgets and stickers to build a layout around the character rather than around a single wallpaper.

New Widgets And Stickers Round Out The Customization Set

Alongside the pet feature, iScreen added themed widgets for building personalized layouts and interactive stickers that can be combined with wallpapers and other visual elements. The company frames these as tools for a cohesive look across the Home Screen rather than one-off decorations, letting users mix widgets, stickers and the Nimori character into a single visual set.

Viral Animal Characters On Social Media Shaped The Timing

iScreen tied the release to the rise of viral animal characters and internet-native personalities across social platforms, citing Jimothy as an example of a character whose fan-created content has drawn wide attention online. The company said this reflects a broader shift toward memes, fan art and character-driven self-expression on phones, and it built Nimori as its own take on that trend rather than a licensed version of an existing viral figure.

Prior IP Work In China Fed Into The New Character

iScreen said its experience collaborating with established IPs and character brands in China informed how it approached Nimori's design and interactivity. The company described this as an ongoing effort to combine character design, visual aesthetics and interactive features rather than a one-time product launch, with plans to keep developing original digital companions beyond Nimori.

An iScreen creative team member said the company wanted to bring the playful energy of internet culture into an original and interactive experience that users can enjoy directly on their screens.

App Already Counts More Than 100 Million Users

iScreen said it has been featured by Apple Editorial in 128 countries for five consecutive days and counts among the top home screen customization platforms worldwide, with more than 100 million users across iOS and Android. The app offers widgets, wallpapers and themed layouts for both Home Screen and Lock Screen personalization.
