2027 Mazda3 Adds Wireless Connectivity and a Sub-$30K AWD Hatch

Irvine, Calif. – November 03, 2026 -- The 2027 Mazda3 brings wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and phone charging to more buyers, and the 2.5 S Preferred Hatchback is offered with i-Activ all-wheel drive for under $30,000, Mazda North American Operations announced.

Both the sedan and the hatchback return with updated packaging. The company also keeps a 6-speed manual transmission available on the 2.5 S Hatchback.

The base 2.5 S sedan delivers 186 horsepower

Every Mazda3 2.5 S runs a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine rated at 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque on 87 octane fuel. A six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive are standard. Standard equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, push-button start and an eight-speaker audio system. Safety gear includes Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane-Keep Assist, Rear Seat Alert and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go.

Select Sport and Preferred trims add wireless features and comfort

The Select Sport brings 18-inch black metallic wheels, leatherette seats, dual-zone climate control and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto with Alexa Built-In. The Preferred adds a power sliding-glass moonroof, an eight-way power driver's seat with memory, heated front seats and a Qi wireless phone charger. The Preferred Hatchback can also be ordered with i-Activ AWD.

The Premium sedan makes AWD standard

The sedan-only Premium trim offers black or red leather, a 12-speaker Bose Premium Audio system with HD radio and standard i-Activ AWD. It also adds Traffic Sign Recognition.

The new Premium Plus Hatchback pairs a manual gearbox with a bigger screen

The hatchback-only 2.5 S Premium Plus combines the six-speed Skyactiv-MT manual with front-wheel drive. It adds a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a heated steering wheel, a windshield-projected active driving display and an adaptive front lighting system that swivels through curves.

The Turbo Premium Plus produces up to 250 horsepower

The top trim uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine making up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque on 93 octane fuel. On regular 87 octane, output is 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. It comes exclusively with i-Activ AWD and paddle shifters.

Sedans get a black rear spoiler. Hatchbacks get a more prominent front air dam and a Turbo-specific rear hatch spoiler. Inside are Homelink, SiriusXM with a three-month trial and a frameless auto-dimming mirror. The trim also gets a 360-degree view monitor with front and rear parking sensors, plus Smart Brake Support-Rear and Rear Cross Traffic Braking.
