Austin, Texas – September 07, 2026 -- Bonnell has launched the 805 RX, an electric dirt bike starting at $8,250, marking the first model in the company's new e-Moto range and available immediately through U.S. dealers and online.
The bike weighs 218 pounds while delivering adult-sized ergonomics
At 218 pounds (99 kg), the 805 RX pairs a lightweight mid-size frame with a low seat height and adjustable footpeg and handlebar positions, letting riders fine-tune fit without modifications. The forged aluminum frame and hydroformed swingarm are built to balance strength and weight.
The powertrain produces 56 hp and top speeds over 80 mph
Bonnell's in-house powertrain generates 56 hp (42 kW) and 594 lb-ft (805 Nm) of rear-wheel torque, with a top speed above 80 mph (130 km/h). The Sirris F43 fork and R46 rear shock provide 9.6 inches (245 mm) of travel front and rear, tuned over two years of Trail, MX and Hard Enduro testing with more than 20 riders.
A swappable battery can be changed in 30 seconds
The removable battery allows riders to swap packs in about 30 seconds and can be pulled for secure charging or storage. A standard 1500W charger, compatible with 110V and 220V outlets, delivers a full charge in roughly two hours; an optional 2500W Fast Charger cuts that to under an hour on 220V.
The rider display shows component temperatures in real time
Bonnell says the 805 RX is the first e-Moto to show motor, controller and battery temperatures directly on the rider display, alongside speed, power limits and maintenance data. A patented Electronic Finger Lever controls traction control, speed limiting, wheel lift assist, regenerative braking and e-clutch functions, while five customizable ride modes, Reverse, Walk Mode, Hill Hold and a password-protected Parental Lock are included with no subscription fees.
A factory rider already won a national title on a prototype
Factory rider Max Beaupre won the Pro Electric class at the US Hard Enduro Championship on a prototype 805 RX, and Bonnell plans to keep racing the bike across additional off-road disciplines.
"We built the 805 to be a bike that doesn't put riders in a box," said Matt Wauters, Bonnell CEO and Founder, adding that the model adapts to first-time riders and expert-level racers alike.
Bonnell is developing a full-size model, the 902, for release in 2027 as part of its broader e-Moto lineup.
